    Surgery Update

Thursday, June 18, 2009, 06:35 PM CST [General]

Well, it's been a while. To update the surgery - everything went well. The surgery was 6 hours and a quadruple bypass. Recovery went well. I was back bowling in just 8 weeks. The averages dropped a bit after being out for so long, but the delivery is getting back in the groove again. Monday before last I had a 682 on the Kegel League, the best so far since the surgery, which is good since I have the state tournament and a couple of others coming up.

Until next time - GOOD BOWLING

    Surgery Layoff

Saturday, March 7, 2009, 01:56 PM CST [General]

Well, I knew I needed a break from bowling, but this is not what I had in mind. On Jan 5 I had an angiogram which led to a quadruple bypass on Jan 15. As of Mar 12, I will have been off for 8 weeks. But I think I can see daylight (or should that be see a full rack) ahead. I've picked up a ball and gave it a few swings without any pain so I'll see what I can do in a week or so. Then It's going to be a chore building up my stamina again. Well - I'll let you know h0w my averages are affected by the layoff. Since I laid off for 13 years and came back at the same average I left, I'm not too worried.

    Later.
